PROPERTIES: CaO avoids spongy defect in the presence of vapor when rubber products are continuously extruded and vulcanized in the absence of pressure due to generation of calcium hydroxide when CaO absorbs vapor. Therefore it is particularly suitable for extruded rubber compounds, such as seals in car or building, which is vulcanized in hot air, fluidized bed, salt bath and microwave device. CaO is also suitable for foam products, especially micro-porous spongy rubber products due to more homogeneous foam structure.
